Merrell Jackson was born on April 26, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. He was an actor, known for Godspell: A Musical Based on the Gospel According to St. Matthew (1973). He died on February 23, 1991.
He auditioned for the Chicago production of "Godspell" in May 1972, but was cast in the movie version instead. After filming the movie in New York, he joined the Chicago stage cast in November 1972.
A 1971 graduate of Calumet High School in Chicago, Illinois. In his senior year, he appeared as King Melchior in a school production of the Christmas opera "Amahl and the Night Visitors" that was also broadcast on WCIU-TV. He joined Chicago's Goodman Theater in 1971.
